McLaren is working hard on the P13, the rival of the Porsche 911, expected to go into production immediately after the P1 will be removed from manufacturing.
It will have a 3.8-liter V8 twin-turbo engine just like MP4-12C, the competitor of the Porsche 911 from Woking. This will provide approximately 444 hp, according to some sources from the brand. As its older brothers, the future P13 will have a carbon-fiber chassis, being the third model receiving the MonoCell solution and the first one for which the investment is written off, explained the representatives of the British brand.
The future P13 design will be strongly inspired by the MP4-12C. In the first instance, those from McLaren will launch a convertible coupe version, with a retractable hardtop following to be launched in 2016. The future model will have a price ranging between 30% and 40% of the MP4-12C one, which would assign it to the categories of Porsche 911 Turbo and SLS AMG.
