Did You Miss Honda’s Manual Transmission? 2022 Honda Civic Si, Type R, and Hatchback Are In Line For it!
by AutoExpert | 18 May, 2021
There are still some old-school drivers who prefer a manual transmission to the automatic one and Honda is one of the automakers that respect wisely their customer’s desires. Recently they announced that will offer a manual transmission for their beautiful 2022 Civic Hatchback, Si, and Type R variants. But the trick is that the upcoming Si and Type R will be sold exclusively in shift-it-yourself form.
This change is just one of the 2021-2022 changeovers that Honda is bringing along and it might seem like discontinuation of the coupe entirely, bringing a brief hiatus for their sporty Si and hardcore Type-R. This is Honda's style of wrapping up development on its more enthusiast-oriented models. And this is your last chance of getting a Civic with optional manual transmission.
This confirmation eloped during a digital walk-around of the new model held late last week and explains that the Si model will be a manual-only model. Watch the video for more details. More details will be revealed on the Hatchback or the ongoing development of the next-generation Type R, and it’s obvious that soon customers will be able to achieve their favorite and park it in their garage.
