Friedrich Nitschke, head of the BMW's Performance Division, provided some clarification regarding the future of the most popular German sports model. The official said that the production of the current M3 Coupe and Convertible models will end in less than six months, ensuring the transition to a new generation, which is already in the final testing.

The great popularity enjoyed by the current generation is once again demonstrated by the fact that all the units that are to be produced in the next period were already ordered. Basically, the scheduled production of the current M3 is already exhausted. Those wishing to purchase the performance model must wait for the arrival of the new M3, whose name will most likely turn into M4, according to the BMW 4 Series Coupe Concept presented at NAIAS 2013.
