Audi Quatro Rally Car Is Ready For The World Rally Championship

The 2021 World Rally Championship is ready to welcome back the Audi Quatro. Such a return is possible thanks to Mattias Ekström and his newly-formed EXS JC racing team.
Recently, Mattias Ekström, revealed that his team is developing a Rally2- version car with specifications based on Audi A1, to participate in the WRC2 and WRC3 support categories. Credits for building cars also got to the South African company Rally Technic. The Audi A1 itself is a powerful car meant to gain glory on the roads, so tunning it into a rallying car wasn't a hard task.
After the hard part of the transformation, there are only a few step-up works left. They reached the testing stage and data gathering to get the car ready for the spring/summer competitions.
The car will be powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder delivering 263 hp. Also, the engine is coupled to a five-speed sequential transmission with all four wheels drive ensured by the Quadro System. The exterior is similar to S1 Quattro painted in the same trio color livery - white, yellow, and red.
Ekstrom's five years of experience in the FIA WRC, along with his passion for rallying are good motivations to build the best car for a rallying championship.
