The Sports car manufacturer Aston Martin has signed a new partnership with Hanergy Thin Film Power to test the benefits of using the solar batteries in auto sport!
The first of its kind fireball was tested last weekend under the number 97 Vantage GTE, which was equipped with two solar batteries. The British refused to give us more technical details about their prototype but told us that such solutions will be used to generate the electricity for the car's auxiliary systems such as air conditioner with air conditioning, which significantly reduces the engine power.
According to the technical director of Aston Martin Racing, Dan Sayers, the idea of using the solar batteries in such a project is to demonstrate their effectiveness in both motorsport and on conventional vehicles encountered daily on public roads. Dan added that the early tests proved to be a success!
