The 4C coupe debuts in its final, production version, which means that the daring model presented today is likely to be seen on the street very soon. Alfa Romeo has already announced that the model will go on sale by the middle of this year.
Designed exclusively by the Alfa Romeo Centro Stile and built at the Maserati's Modena-based factory, the new 4C Competizione faithfully copies the exterior look of the concept with the same name, presented in 2011 at the Geneva Motor Show as well. The general lines are inspired by the legendary 33 Stradale model, while the mechanical functionality is harmoniously complemented by an emotional, compact and dynamic design. Moreover, the body's drag coefficient is the lowest from the Alfa Romeo's range.
The designers have decided to emphasize the passenger compartment's safety cell made of carbon fiber in order to enhance the feeling of uniqueness and technological progress. The cockpit will host two passengers and will be integrated into a body that stands just under four meters long, two meters wide, and 1.18 meter tall and features a compact 2.4m wheelbase.
The model will be equipped with the already famous 1750 cc engine, used by the Giulietta's Quadrifoglio Verde version as well. The technical data related to this unit will be officially announced at the Geneva exhibition.
