Honda is rumored to be gearing up for a big release in 2023 as the automaker celebrates its 75th anniversary. According to Autocar, Honda may be planning to unveil a new car that could serve as a modern replacement for the beloved S2000.
In a recent statement, Tom Gardner, the Senior Vice President of Honda Europe, hinted at exciting news for car enthusiasts. Gardner urged fans to keep an eye out, stating that 2023 marks a significant milestone for the company. Gardner also mentioned that the S2000 was released during the 50th anniversary, so it's worth paying attention to what Honda has in store. It's hard to say for sure.
According to Gardner, Honda's upcoming product lineup, especially those sold in Europe, will be characterized as cutting-edge and athletic. He spoke about how much they value performance and sports automobiles, praising the reception their current Type R model has had.
Its high worth may be attributed to the tremendous demand for and praise for its performance. Gardner was also pleased to see the Type R break the Nurburgring record since he believes it speaks well of Honda's reputation.
On the other hand, Takahiro Hachigo, Honda's former CEO, said the company is keen to develop a new roadster in light of the widespread demand for a successor to the S2000. Hachigo stressed that Honda's development experts are receptive to client desires for sporty vehicles and can quickly provide them.
