The Korean manufacturer has officially unveiled its 2022 Genesis Electrified G80 at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show - this is the brand’s first all-electric vehicle. This Genesis Electrified G80 powered by a pair of electric motors producing 365 horsepower and 700 Newton-meters of torque, split equally between the front and rear axles. The tests revealed a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) acceleration in just 4.9 seconds.
Genesis is famous for equipping this EV with a 400V/800V multi-rapid charging system that allows customers to use various charging infrastructures. No details were revealed yet about the battery capacity rather than this one, will be a regular lithium-ion battery allowing a range exceeding 310 miles (500 km) on the NEDC cycle, with a charging time of 22 minutes for 10%-80% levels.
The Electrified G80 presented this year features a Disconnector Actuator System (DAS). This system can automatically connect or disconnect both the motor and the drive shaft based on various driving conditions. It also includes a vehicle speed and driving mode, shifting between two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. Additionally, it features a Vehicle to Load (V2L), allowing its customers to use up to 3.6 kW of electric power for the electric appliances.
Secondly, another feature is the Active Noise Control-Road (ANC-R) system that measures and analyzes the road noises with its four sensors and six microphones inside the vehicle and creating sounds at the opposite phase. Just imagine a quiet driving experience. Genesis offers the EV in optional Matira Blue or Dark Green two-tone colors.
The exterior suffered fewer modifications, but you instantly notice a larger closed front grille. Genesis made more modifications inside the cabin, giving its customers an interior equipped with natural and recycled materials. The leather used in the seats, console, and rear seat upholsteries has a natural dye. For a much glamourous retro style, the Electrified G80 has some details made from recycled wood.
More details of the 2022 Genesis Electrified G80 specifications will be announced later this year.
