Ford is aiming its attention towards the electric vans for a much profitable business. Starting this summer, Ford already opened a registration site for the 2022 E-Transit announcing pricing starting at $43,295. Customers will be able to opt for the E-Transit high-roof extended-wheelbase cargo van for 52,690.
Gladly, the van is eligible for a $7,500 federal tax credit along with additional state and local incentives depending on your current location. Ford even promotes the new E-Transit could save money from the maintenance costs projected to be 40% less than the brand’s previous gas-powered Transit models.
Orders should begin in July since dealers already delivered at least 450 commercial customers’ interest in purchasing the electric van in North America only. Ford confirmed that amongst them there are around 200 top fleets and fleet management companies.
The E-Transit will be available with plenty of configurations such as chassis cab, cutaway models, cargo vans with three roof heights and three lengths. Each model is powered by a 67 kWh battery pack and an electric motor that produces a total of 266 horsepower and 429 Nm of torque.
Bringing along multiple configurations and a powerful electric motor, the E-Transit low-roof cargo van has also an amazing 126 miles (203 km) range. For a commercial Ford van that only drives an average of 74 miles (119 km) per day, it’s a great range.
