Mazda decided to go bigger this year and expanded its MX-5 lineup by giving us the new Sport Venture edition. It's two wins in one single model - the expansion itself and an homage to its predecessor, the 2014 model. You can instantly spot the same Deep Crystal Blue adding silver detailing on the roll hoop covers and side mirror caps. The automaker plans to build only 160 units of the 2021 Mazda MX-5 Sport Venture and they are for British customers. They even confirmed that the price for this specific edition would start at £27,615 ($37,959).
Also, for the cabin, they optioned for a grey fabric roof, 16-inch bright alloy wheels, and Light Stone Nappa leather interior. This MX-5 Sport Venture is powered by a 1.5-liter engine, has a Sport Convertible grade, retaining 130 horsepower. Also, it was confirmed the heated seats, DAB digital radio, auto-dimming rearview mirror, keyless entry, rain-sensing wipers, and others.
“When it comes to driver engagement, the current generation MX-5 has already established itself as a benchmark sports car, and with the 2021 Mazda MX-5, and now the Sport Venture, we continue to offer one of the most exciting and satisfying drive cars money can buy,” said Jeremy Thomson, Mazda UK’s Managing Director.
Another member that will proudly join the MX-5 Sport Venture is the MX-5 R-Sport Convertible with its price set at £27,705 ($38,083). This one perfectly combines a Polymetal Grey Metallic paint finish with a grey soft top, 16-inch gunmetal alloy wheels, and brings a Burgundy Nappa leather seat with a silver stitching interior. Both models share the same 1.5-liter engine.
The MX-5 range includes 10 specs - four Convertibles and six RF folding hardtop models, in the SE-L, Sport, Sport Tech, and GT Sport Tech grades, with 130 horsepower delivered by the 1.5-liter engine and a 181 horsepower from the 2.0-liter SkyActiv-G engine.
