2021 Ford Explorer Timberline Brings New Performance Grille Lights

The new 2021 Ford Explorer Timberline is an Explorer aimed for family adventurous trips. Features wheels wrapped in high-sidewall Bridgestone Dueler all-terrain tires, Police Interceptor’s dampers, recalibrated springs, stabilizer bars, and steering rack.

Nicknamed the Timberline, the car gets a model-exclusive front rebound spring and re-tuned steering rack. New gear with a set of skid plates was built to protect Ford’s front, engine, transmission. Also, the Explorer shows a new Torsen limited-slip rear differential that helps to send torque to the rear wheel.

Powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder it delivers up to 300 horsepower and 420 Newton-meter of torque coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Timberline is available in seven different drive modes with the Timberline’s Terrain Management System. The standard model has Hill Descent Control, while the Class III towing package allows, the driver to tow up to 5,300 pounds.

The exterior wares Carbonized Gray grille, black Ford oval, dark accents around the lights, and a set of red tow hooks at the front and Timberline-exclusive fog lamps along with available Ford Performance auxiliary light set for more trail lighting. The timberline is painted in a bespoke Forged Green Metallic color.

For the interior, Ford offers a Vehicle with Deep Cypress trim perfectly matching the green exterior. The “Stone Mesh” pattern used for the car’s trim, along with a silver backing for the center stack and orange inserts on the door panels, and orange stitching altered on the seats, steering wheel, and door trim. The new Explorer Timberline has both seats and a steering wheel as a standard model.

Ford confirmed the price for the 2021Ford Explorer Timberline starting at $47,010, the destination charge set at $1,245 destination charge, and an extra $499 for Ford Performance grille lights. It is expected to reach the dealerships this summer.
