by AllAutoExperts | 6 October, 2015
The 2015 Top Safety Pick+ designation went to the 2016 Honda Accord sedan and coupe. This means that the cars got a good rating in 5 crash tests conducted by IIHS.
IIHS have tested the cars in 5 crash tests: small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side-impact, roof strength, and head restraints/seat test. The 2015 Top Safety Pick+ designation was granted also for driver-assistive technology called Honda Sensing, available on Accords, which includes Forward Collision Warning.
Other features of Honda Sensing include CMBS - Collision Mitigation Braking System, LDW - Lane Departure Warning, LKAS - Lane Keep Assist, RDM - Road Departure Mitigation, and ACC - Adaptive Cruise Control.
Honda Sensing is optionally available for the 2016 Accord sedan and coupe on every trim level. Senior VP of Honda said that the package was implemented to reduce collisions and fatalities in accidents.
