Apart from designing and manufacturing cars, Lotus has another division called Technical Services. Now, the British Olympic team has sought the expertise of this division for their 2024 track bikes. In essence, Technical Services is a division within Lotus that provides support and expertise throughout the entire product development process.
This division leverages Lotus' extensive experience and expertise in automotive development to offer solutions across a wider range of industries, such as mass transportation and personal mobility.
Lotus is currently working on designing a new track bike for the British Cycling team in preparation for the 2024 games, but the specific design elements have not yet been revealed.
However, Lotus has a strong reputation in the bicycle racing community thanks to its past contributions. In 1992, Chris Boardman won the gold medal at the Barcelona Games riding a Lotus Type 108. Lotus then developed the Lotus Type 110, a bike that won the Prologue TT at the Tour de France in 1994.
In 2020, Lotus teamed up with bike manufacturer Hope to build another track bike for the Olympics, showcasing its continued commitment to cycling innovation. With Lotus' past success in creating innovative and groundbreaking designs, there is a lot of anticipation and excitement surrounding their new track bike for the 2024 Olympic Games.
