What you see in the picture is the new Mercedes-Maybach SUV G650 Landaulet version. The image has been released earlier than it was supposed to. Mercedes has posted this single picture of G-Wagen in a sea color exterior and a tan interior.
Thanks to some social networking sites, we've got a precise idea of how this new G will be. We have to agree that it's remarkable.
It's supposed to have the same W463 platform used since 1990. This means that it might be the last hurrah for this 27-year-old-platform. This G650 model has got the usual sheet metal hindquarters instead of a foldable top. Except that, the model is equipped with Maybach badging.
The power of this model comes from a 6.0-liter Biturbo V12 used for G65 models, delivering 630 hp (463 kW) and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) torque. The new G650 model has got some exterior elements such as carbon fiber wheel arches, a LED strip above the spare tire, and a well-defined front and rear fascias.
This G650 Landaulet will be manufactured in 99 units and its price will start from 300,000 ($322,050). The SUV will be first launched at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland, in March.
