The New Jeep Recon Is A Fully-Electric, Trail-Ready Option
by AutoExpert | 9 September, 2022
Jeep has officially revealed that in 2024, the Wrangler will be followed by the Recon, an electric SUV sibling. The information was released during Jeep's 4xe Day, where the firm announced it would launch four new electric SUVs in the U.S. and Europe.
Wagoneer S and Recon will share the same Stellantis STLA electric vehicle architecture, but the Jeep Recon is a true off-roader with detachable doors and visible hinges. Jeep has not provided many technical specifications for the Recon, although the firm has stated that the Recon was built from the bottom up to be a Jeep 4x4.
Jeep Selec-Terrain traction management, e-locker axle tech, underbody protection, tow hooks, and intimidating off-road tires will be among the trail-friendly features. Additionally, the Jeep Recon will receive a one-touch power roof and the most recent version of Jeep's Connect infotainment system, which features comprehensive trip directions for well-known off-road routes.
According to Christian Meunier, CEO of Jeep, “The all-new, all-electric Jeep Recon can cross the mighty Rubicon Trail, one of the most challenging off-road trails in the U.S., and reach the end of the trail with enough range to drive back to town and recharge. "
The Jeep Recon and Wagoneer S will be available for pre-order in early 2023, with production beginning in 2024.
