The New Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster Can Reach Speeds of Over 300 MPH

Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster is now available after a lengthy wait. Today, August 19, at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, which is part of Monterey Car Week, it makes its public debut.

The Venom F5 Roadster, according to Hennessey, is the most powerful and fastest convertible in the world. Its mid-mounted 6.6-liter V8 engine generates 1,817 horsepower and 1,193 pound-feet of torque.

Thanks to this engine, the Venom F5 Roadster, according to Hennessey, can reach speeds of over 300 miles per hour. When viewed from the front, the F5 Roadster and the coupe are indistinguishable. Moreover, the roof panel includes a travel bag made of Merino wool. The Venom F5 Roadster weighs in at under 3,100 pounds. Comparatively, the coupe weighs 2,998 pounds. 

A new window made of tempered glass at the back offers a glimpse of the powerplant. The material, which can resist temperatures of more than 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit, was originally used in jet engines. Only 30 examples of the Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster will ever be built. The first units will roll off the assembly line in the latter half of 2022, with pricing beginning at $3 million.
