The 2023 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, designed by Virgil Abloh, is on its way to the United States

Project Maybach concept, developed by renowned fashion designer Virgil Abloh, grabbed headlines in December of last year. This car is the result of a collaboration between Louis Vuitton's artistic director and the German premium automaker. After being diagnosed with cardiac angiosarcoma in 2019, Abloh died in November 2021. Nevertheless, the Mercedes-Maybach S680, a tribute to his illustrious career, will carry on his reputation.
The new Maybach will be available in the United States and is a production model. It's based on a Maybach S-Class S 680 from 2023, with a projected manufacturing run of just 39 cars for the US. The fashion designer collaborated with Mercedes-Benz Chief Design Officer Gorden Wagener to establish the fundamental design idea for the premium vehicle.
Before Abloh's sad death in November, the car was completed in 2021. The personalization and craftsmanship department at Mercedes-Benz Manufaktur in Sindelfingen is responsible for bringing the project to life. The Maybach S-Class has a distinctive two-tone color theme with a cream primary hue and striking black roof, hood, and pillars. The trademark Maybach 20-inch wheels are also coated in the same beige color.
Fine cream leather covers the seats, door panels, armrests, and the bottom area of the dash. There is a lot of black leather on display from the central screen above.
To refresh your memory, the Maybach S680's 604-horsepower 6.0-liter V12 engine powers the vehicle. The premium vehicle can accelerate from a standstill to 62 mph in under 4.5 seconds, while the maximum speed is electronically restricted to 155 mph.
