Special-Edition Porsche 911 GT3 To Mark The Company's 70th Anniversary In Australia
by AutoExpert | 10 December, 2021
This year celebrates the 70th anniversary of Porsche in Australia, one of the company's oldest locations. Porsche has released a limited-edition 911 GT3 branded the 911 GT3 70 Years Porsche Australia Edition to honor the occasion. This is the first instance a market-specific model has been built on a Touring model since it is based on the wingless 911 GT3 Touring.
Moreover, this is the first time Porsche has created a limited-edition vehicle for Australia. Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur has created a new unique Fish Silver Grey Metallic color for the Porsche GT3 70 Years Porsche Australia Edition.
The sleek new finish is a contemporary twist on the Fish Silver Grey hue that was used on one of the first two Porsche 356 vehicles brought into Australia in 1951, according to Porsche. The special-edition GT3 Touring also boasts several unique external and interior design aspects to commemorate this year's historic milestone, according to Porsche, although the carmaker doesn't go into detail.
Limiting manufacturing to 70 units seems reasonable, but Porsche hasn't specified a figure. There is no pricing information provided. The special-edition Porsche, which is based on the 911 GT3 Touring, is driven by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine that produces 502 hp and 346 lb-ft of torque. The anniversary Porsche 911 GT3 appeared with the Taycan, Macan, and several vintage Porsches symbolizing the company's seven decades in Australia, from the 356 through the 928 to the current 911, during the unveiling event.
