Smart #1 Is Now Available For Reservation In China, With Prices Starting At $29,000

In China, the Smart #1 completely electric SUV is now available to purchase, disclosing for the first time the vehicle's pricing. The Smart #1 has pre-sale prices of ¥190,000 ($28,970) and ¥230,000 ($35,070).
The Smart #1 comes in two trim levels in China: Pro+ and Premium. Both have a 66 kWh battery and a rear-mounted electric engine with 264 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque. The Premium trim has silicon carbide technology (SiC) on the electric engine, which allows for a longer CLTC distance of 348 miles vs the Pro+'s 332 miles.
The Premium has a range of 273 miles while the Pro+ has a range of 261 miles under the WLTP criteria. A 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and a heads-up display are included in the interior. A 150 kW DC fast-charging capacity is also available, as well as the intelligent Pilot ADAS package, which provides Level 2 autonomy.
According to local media, exact pricing will be released in June, but potential buyers can make reservations for ¥500 ($76) through a smartphone app now. During the third quarter of this year, the Smart #1 should begin shipping to Chinese customers.
