Saleen Automotive has recently unveiled the SA-40 Edition, a speedster with limited production based on the Ford Mustang GT, commemorating the company's 40th anniversary. Similar to its predecessor, the SA-35, the SA-40 is incredibly powerful, with a purported 800 horsepower.
The upgrade package incorporates distinctive wheels, Saleen brakes, and Racecraft suspension, as per reports by Ford Muscle.
To provide a more refined look to the SA-40, all Ford and Mustang logos have been taken out, and the bodywork has undergone significant modifications, including a revamped front fascia with a range of black accents, large vents behind the front wheels, and a hood that features a prominent central scoop. The back end also features additional black elements around the taillights, a revised rear bumper with vents and updated exhaust tips, as well as a rear spoiler.
Another standout feature of the SA-40 is its tonneau cover, which incorporates a carbon fiber roll hoop. This cover can be removed, allowing for access to the rear seats. In addition to its design, the Saleen SA-40's most notable feature is its color, dubbed Saleen Speedlab Yellow. The company describes it as a metallic yellow that radiates in the sunlight.
The Saleen SA-40 is a limited edition model, with only 10 units available at a base price of $142,000 each. However, the first unit will be sold at a considerably lower price as part of a collaboration with Cruise for a Cause sweepstakes, aimed at raising awareness for cancer research.
