Porsche Cayenne Receives Vintage Rally-Inspired Makeover

New customization choices for older Porsche cars are being promoted with the official rally-inspired facelift of the first-generation Cayenne. The in-house Porsche Classic division has restyled and updated two Porsche Cayenne cars, adding skid plates, hefty off-road tires, rally-style wheels and spotlights, and also new retro-inspired sticker packs, which are now the only parts available to purchase through Porsche.
A collapsible roof tent is also included with the black automobile. The special wheels, mud flaps, and roof baskets aren't yet available through Porsche's Classic division, but they're now being tested for practicality, according to Porsche.
Porsche will show the cars at select events to get reactions from customers and consider it when deciding on the improvement of specific parts. Manthey Racing's upgrade package for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, which enabled the car to establish a production lap time around the Nürburgring last year, will be easy to purchase straight from Porsche Classic, according to the company.
Upgraded aerodynamic components, coilover suspension, customized braking components, and magnesium wheels are all included in the kit. In the future, other choices such as race brake pads and 3D-printed bodyform bucket seats will be available.
Porsche Classic has also said that other components are in the works. As for the Porsche Classic Communication Management Plus infotainment system, it's been updated for the 2005 to 2008 Cayman, Boxster, and 911, as well as the first-generation Porsche Cayenne. Performance chassis parts for the 996 generation of the 911 and 959 are also being made.
