The GV60, Genesis' first electric car, has been officially unveiled. On the same E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform) that Hyundai's Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 are built on, Genesis has developed Genesis GV60. A more luxurious and expensive option than the two, it has the same design language as other Genesis vehicles already on the market.
The ‘G' in the name signifies Genesis, the ‘V' indicates the EV's versatility, and under the carmaker's current nomenclature, lower numbers indicate athleticism, implying that the automaker is promoting this as its most athletic vehicle yet.
The GV60's front end is instantly recognizable owing to its 'Quad Lamps' headlamps, as well as the brand's Crest Grille, albeit it has been redesigned and is smaller than on previous Genesis versions. A clamshell-style top has also been constructed.
When viewed from the side, GV60 incorporates cameras in place of typical wing mirrors. It also has electronic door handles that illuminate as people approach the SUV. 2022 Genesis GV60 has shown also features some eye-catching wheels. The GV60's rear end has Two Line LED taillights, a fixed rear spoiler, and a coupe-shaped roofline.
In the cab, Genesis GV60 is equally notable for its one-of-a-kind features, most notably the Crystal Sphere. When the car is turned off, the Crystal Sphere becomes part of the ambient lighting, and when you start the engine, the sphere rotates and the shift-by-wire shifter emerges. Additional major features in GV60's cabin include a floating console, rear wing cameras monitors, a huge digital instrument cluster, and a noticeable infotainment touchscreen.
The GV60's technical specs have yet to be announced by Genesis, and this is likely to happen in the following months.
