Mugen Reveals Concept Versions Of The Honda ZR-V And Civic Type R
by AutoExpert | 26 December, 2022
The customized Honda ZR-V e:HEV, created by Japanese tuner Mugen, will have its world premiere at this year's Tokyo Auto Salon, alongside a concept version of Honda's Civic Type R. The hybrid (e:HEV) ZR-V, the Japanese equivalent to the HR-V in the United States, was chosen for modification by the tuner.
The front fascia has been reworked to include a more noticeable splitter with aluminum-style inlays, faux bumper intakes, vertical slats on the grille, and the Mugen symbol.
The extended rear spoiler, the fascia of the rear bumper, and the unique addition above the taillights all contribute to the impression of a cluttered rear. It's worth noting that the AWD Honda HR-V e:HEV sold in Japan and other parts of Asia is driven by a hybrid system that includes a 2.0-liter engine, two electric motors, and a continuously variable transmission.
The tuner mentions performance elements, which may include the car's suspension and exhaust system, suggesting that the upgrades will go beyond just aerodynamics and aesthetics. The car is officially a concept, but it certainly previews the ZR-V’s upcoming tuning package for the Japanese market. Honda's Civic Type R Mugen Concept will reportedly use the tuner's racing knowledge and technology, but beyond that, information is scarce.
