McLaren Is Marking Its 60th Birthday By Offering New Color Schemes
by AutoExpert | 2 November, 2023
McLaren is marking its 60th year by offering three unique color options for the GT, Artura, and 750S models. These colors hold special significance as they represent McLaren's historic victories in motorsport's Triple Crown: the Indy 500, Monaco Grand Prix, and 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The first color option, Indy Orange, pays homage to the 1974 Indy 500 champion M16D, while Monaco White draws inspiration from the 1984 MP4/2 that won the Monaco Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Le Mans Grey commemorates the F1 GTR's victory in the 24-hour Le Mans race in 1995.
Buyers can apply one of these special colors to an Artura, GT, or 750S, and the 750S can be further enhanced with Triple Crown stripes, a unique feature available on 60 cars, one for each year of McLaren's existence. These stripes run across the trunk lid, rear deck, and spoiler, with Triple Crown logos on the nose and spoiler.
Additional options for the anniversary edition include two new brake caliper colors—Indy Blue and Le Mans Gold, and the Speedy Kiwi logo on gloss carbon fiber door mirrors. Inside, you can opt for an orange center line marker on cars equipped with carbon steering wheels and carbon gearshift paddles featuring Triple Crown colors.
Each 60th-anniversary McLaren receives a brushed aluminum plaque, with the 750S models sporting a "1 of 60" engraving to mark their exclusivity.
