McLaren has collaborated with abstract artist Nat Bowen to create an art car based on its newest model, which is a riot of color. "Chromology," which depicts the psychology of color, is the subject of the work. According to the carmaker, the rainbow-colored McLaren Artura also tackles the ideas of art and the future.
“It has been an honor to work with McLaren Automotive on this exciting concept and display it as part of my first solo exhibition in Dubai,” Nat Bowen remarked. Translucent resin pigments that adjust to the light to reflect and absorb the project's surroundings were used to create the design.
“We are delighted to have collaborated with Nat Bowen to showcase the all-new McLaren Artura featuring her signature multi-layered artwork in the iconic surroundings of the ME Dubai,” stated Mohamed Fawzi, McLaren's Middle East and Africa market director.
McLaren Artura is propelled by a combined output of 671 hp from a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 and an electric engine. It can also travel 19 miles (30 km) on electric power alone and get up to 50 mpg (4.7 L/100 km). The Artura art car will be on show at Bowen's solo exhibition at the ME Dubai hotel from February 24 to March 31.
