JE Design Transforms Cupra Leon With Striking Bodykit And Oversized Wing
by AutoExpert | 27 January, 2024
JE Design has given the Cupra Leon a striking mid-lifecycle update with a package that includes a distinctive bodykit, 19-inch wheels, lowered suspension, and a show-stopping oversized rear wing. The attention-grabbing racing-style wing not only adds an aggressive visual impact but, according to JE Design, also provides a substantial 396 lbs of downforce on the rear axle at 124 mph.
While the performance is notable, it's clear that many customers will be drawn to this wing for its eye-catching aesthetics.
The bodykit, derived from the Cupra Leon Sportstourer, features front and rear fender extensions that widen the hatchback. The front splitter, with adjustable sections, and side winglets contribute to both style and aerodynamics. The glossy black pieces are made of ABS and can be painted, while genuine carbon is used for the mirror cap covers.
For those seeking a more subtle look, the kit is available without the wing. JE Design also offers a "Street Race Kit" for the Cupra Leon, presenting a less prominent splitter, matching side skirts, and rear spoiler extensions. Wheel options come in 18, 19, or 20 inches, paired with performance tires. Lowering suspension springs bring the Leon closer to the ground while remaining compatible with the factory-fit electronic DCC system.
For those interested in the upgrades, JE Design's online shop showcases the options. The standout component, the rear wing, is priced at €2,799 ($3,035). The inspiration for this Widebody RS kit comes from the track-focused JE Design Cupra Leon Widebody RS-R, which demonstrated impressive performance at the Sachsenring circuit in October 2023, featuring extreme suspension, lightweight rims, a battery upgrade, and a power boost to the 2.0-liter TSI engine.
