In Europe, Lexus LC 2022 Will Be Available With A Stylish Aircraft-Inspired Rear Wing

Lexus collaborated with Japanese aerobatic and race pilot Yoshihide Muroya on the design of the Lexus LC's rear wing, which is now available in Europe. The carbon-fiber rear wing is part of the Lexus Bespoke Build program and will be restricted in quantity.
Lexus LC wing is 2 meters wide (78.7 inches) and was first designed in aluminum before being replicated in carbon-fiber reinforced plastic. It has a hollow core and is made of carbon fiber and epoxy resin. After baking in an autoclave, the lacquered surface shows a weaving texture.
The result, according to Lexus, is a component that is light, robust, and stylish. The shape is supposed to enhance the aerodynamic performance of the flagship coupe, and it was inspired by wing-tip vortices that impact the layout of winglets on jet aircraft. "The winglets sharpened the LC's handling without using drag-creating downforce, resulting in enhanced performance without sacrifices," stated Yoshiaki Ito, Lexus Takumi master driver.
Lexus has been working with Yoshihide Muroya since 2016, and the Japanese pilot won the Red Bull Air Race World Championship series in 2017. Using the skills of Lexus designers and engineers in aerodynamics, cooling, and ergonomics, the carmaker assisted Muroya in developing his championship-winning aircraft.
