In China, The New BMW i3 Is An Electric 3-Series
by AutoExpert | 9 December, 2021
BMW 3-Series EV spy photos have appeared before, but Chinese officials have officially identified it as the all-new i3. The 2022 BMW i3 is said to be based on the remastered 3-Series Long Wheelbase, which has little in common with the electric hatch.
BMW i3 has a fully enclosed grille with optional blue elements, in addition to redesigned headlights that are likely to be shared with the basic model. A somewhat sporty fascia with large intakes may be seen elsewhere. The model also includes redesigned front fenders that blend into more noticeable side skirts, as well as aerodynamic wheels.
The rear bumper and diffuser are distinctive, as is the i3 badging on the trunk. BMW i3 features a pure electric motor and has a peak speed of 112 mph (180 km/h), according to the official listing. The vehicle also features a 335 hp (250 kW / 340 PS) electric powertrain, according to the description. There's not much else we know about the new BMW i3 model, but we can expect it to be shown soon.
