German Polizei Will Be Driving An American Tuned Corvette

Surprising news came out of the 2015 Essen Motor Show. German Federal Ministry of Transport has ordered a tuned Corvette with Polizei livery.
The tuning house responsible for it is the TIKT Performance. The project is called: Tune It! Safe! Corvette.
The purpose of this project was to promote responsible tuning compliant with local laws. The car features carbon fiber body, Hella police lighting, and 19 & 20-inch alloys wearing Hankook tires.
The tuned Vette is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 engine with 7-speed manual transmission good for 459 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque.
The question, though, on anyone's mind is why they didn't order a Porsche 911? Why the Corvette? The only explanation that comes to mind is that the American muscle car looks way cooler in Polizei wrap than the 911? Doesn't it?
