Fisker Karma – when an electro vehicle (re)becomes a car
by AllAutoExperts | 17 December, 2012
From the second half of 2013, Fisker Karma (electro) vehicle will be available in a gasoline version, whose propulsion will be provided by the same supercharged V8 of 6.2 liters and 638 horsepower that runs on the best Chevrolet Corvette of all time, ZR1.
The technical package includes a manual transmission in six-speeds (optional automatic gearbox will be available with four-speed only), launch control, and redesigned chassis.
Destino - the name the new creation, is announced as one of the most exciting projects in early 2013.
Aesthetically, the product of collaboration between entrepreneur Gilbert Villereal and former vice chairman of General Motors, Bob Lutz, will have the restyled front/rear bumpers and 22-inch HRE wheels. Destino stands out with visible exhaust tips, an aesthetic detail that's missing from original Fisker Karma.
Destino aims to compete against fierce rivals such as the Aston Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamera. This four-door sports car will be available in an aspirated version, which will have the new 6.2-liter V8 and 450 horsepower, the same engine that recently debuted on the new generation of the legendary Chevrolet Corvette.
