The Two-Tone Mercedes G-Class Edition 550 Gets Its First Look
by AutoExpert | 2 March, 2022
The new G-Class Edition 550 has been unveiled by Mercedes-Benz USA. This is a very limited run of just 200 special editions, with exteriors in Jupiter Red, Arabian Grey, or Moonlight White. Gloss black color has been sprayed to the bumpers, fender flares, grille, and wheels to accentuate the hues.
The G-Class Edition 550 also comes with black badging and an exterior emblem depicting the G-Class silhouette and stating that the special edition is limited to 200 units.
Buyers will find a wide selection of premium interior options inside the cabin, including two-tone Nappa Leather upholstery with diamond detailing, active multi-contour seats, and carbon-fiber trim. A distinctive grab handle with the inscription "1 of 200 Edition 550" joins them.
The carmaker didn't disclose much else about the G-Class Edition 550, although it's expected to have the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that produces 416 hp (310 kW/422 PS) and 450 lb-ft (609 Nm). It should be mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox and a two-speed transfer case in an all-wheel-drive system. The base model can speed from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 5.6 secs and tow up to 7,000 lbs (3,175 kg) thanks to this configuration.
