Corvette Production Stalled Again As Mexican Suppliers Deal With COVID
by AutoExpert | 12 November, 2020
General Motors stopped the production of the Chevrolet Corvette this week due to the Mexican supply chain issues with the pandemic. Mexico has introduced new restrictions as the country reported a spike in infections last month.
Europe keeps starting new lockdowns which if extended could affect supply chains. The automaker resume to normal operations is planned for Monday in Kentucky, while its supply chain, manufacturing, and engineering crews are “working closely with our supply base to mitigate any further impact on production.”
2020 has shown us previous Corvette has delayed production on multiple occasions. The first delay was after last year’s extended UAW strike rolled into the first brush with government health restrictions. Until today, the C8 production has been hampered by numerous supply chain issues.
