Carbon Piranha Is A Crowdfunded Restoration Of Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 Set To Break Boundaries
by AutoExpert | 22 August, 2024
The Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 is now undergoing a unique restoration in the United Kingdom. The Auto Vision Club and a number of partners created the initiative, which is known as Carbon Piranha. Those who join this online club for auto enthusiasts will have the chance to acquire the final automobile, and there are two early membership options: £99 and £148.
They can look forward to "affiliate discounts and member benefits" as extra perks. In essence, it's a crowdfunded restomod project.
Yasid Design has imagined an automobile with a completely carbon fiber body, and the construction team is planning to realize this vision in conjunction with Cosworth. The project aims to create an RS500 weighing under 2,200 pounds, and it's named after chassis #148, the current RS500 in use.
Cosworth is handling the refurbishment of the original 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Despite the absence of official power objectives, we suspect that Cosworth may upgrade the Vision 148 beyond 300 horsepower. The original output was 224 hp.
With its impressive power, lightweight build, and bold design, the Vision148 project promises to be an incredible machine. However, the specialists have not yet revealed when it will be completed.
