An Early Look At The Face Of The Upcoming Renault Austral
by AutoExpert | 23 February, 2022
Renault Austral is slated to arrive on March 8, and the carmaker wanted to give us a final look at the SUV's appearance with this teaser. Following photographs of a disguised prototype, an interior drawing, and some teaser photos from the cabin, we now get our first look at an outside illustration of the Austral.
Although the existence of an internal combustion engine under the hood has resulted in a bigger grille, the front end is directly influenced by the entirely electric Megane E-Tech. The LED headlights extend to the lighted grille, and the massive bumper intakes, contoured hood, and polished steel bezel on the side windows all feature Renault's new Sensual Tech styling cues.
The inclusion of front and rear skid plates communicates the SUV character of the vehicle. Renault Austral will have a five-seater interior with several storage compartments and a "cocoon effect," according to prior teasers. The digital cockpit, which includes the OpenR infotainment system, will have a total display size of 24.3 inches, with enhanced soundproofing and more ADAS capabilities than the Renault Kadjar.
Built on the CMF-CD3 architecture, Renault's C-SUV will be 4.51 meters long (177.6 inches). Renault Austral will be offered only with electrified petrol engines, offering mild hybrids (1.3 TCe 12V and 1.2 TCe 48V) and a full hybrid E-Tech version with 197 hp (147 kW/200 PS).
