The European C-segment market will have by 2023, one of the best-looking models to drive. It even eclipses Volkswagen's Golf and could become a star, repeating the brand's 2008 Peugeot 208's success in its segment.
Interesting that, the automaker could even try to adapt the model into an electric vehicle also, but there are slight changes. The EV version was confirmed by an Automotive News report the Peugeot 308 in an all-electric version which is scheduled to be launched by 2023.
It's believed that this version could directly compete with the VW ID.3 on the market, but according to Peugeot's spokesman, no details can be revealed to confirm it. Experts wonder though, what kind of platform will be used for their electric vehicle. Presumably, they could use the CMP small car architecture, which allows using electric powertrains.
Another option is to use the upcoming e-VMP architecture, which would be the battery-electric adaptation for the EMP2 for the new 308. This specific powertrain will debut along with the next-generation 3008 in 2023 of course. Mor detail will be revealed later.
